It was the first private university department to carry the title of Public Administration. 1989 a full-time day programme was introduced, laying the foundation for the Department\u2019s subsequent development.<\/p>\n<p>In 1997, one evening class was converted into a regular degree programme, while another became a continuing education bachelor\u2019s programme. To respond to the global wave of democratisation and to advance Taiwan\u2019s political, economic, and social development, the Department established a Master\u2019s Programme in Public Policy in 1999. An in-service Master\u2019s Programme in Public Policy followed in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the Department admits two undergraduate classes each year. Graduates frequently pursue postgraduate studies at national universities, undertake further study abroad, or succeed in civil service examinations, thereby contributing highly qualified personnel to both the academic and practical fields of Public Administration in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>In response to evolving trends and future challenges, the Department will be officially renamed the Department of Public Administration and Law from the 2026 academic year, reflecting its commitment to cultivating interdisciplinary professional talent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1964 as an evening programme, the Department pioneered in-service studies in Public Administration in Taiwan.
